Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation
Accreditation Coordinator
NAEYC is seeking Accreditation Coordinator to support the work of our Accreditation System. Responsibilities include working with program staff, assessors and decision makers throughout all aspects of the accreditation process. The Coordinator will review materials submitted to identify any procedural errors and measure program compliance with our standards and monitor the performance of assessors to ensure reliability is maintained in all assessment procedures and protocols, while providing support to assessors in their role.
BA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development, experience in the field of early childhood education and a sound understanding of its practices is required. Experience with high quality programming and NAEYC accreditation is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, MS Office and database skills are required. Information Coordinator
NAEYC is seeking an Information Coordinator to work in the Academy's information center (call center) who will serve as the primary customer service liaison to our customers. Primary duties include providing technical assistance to on-site visitors, program staff, facilitation projects, and the general public about our accreditation system via email, phone and correspondence and providing administrative support.
Candidates must have at minimum an AA degree, BA in ECE or related field preferred, knowledge of or experience with NAEYC Accreditation, ECE experience and 1-2 years of customer service experience. Information Systems Coordinator
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a Washington, DC-based national membership organization of close 100,000 members, focused on improving the quality and accessibility of early childhood education programs and services and on enhancing the development of children and families.
We are seeking an Information Systems Coordinator to coordinate and manage the information technology systems and database programs for NAEYC’s Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation. Responsibilities include reviewing current and future requirements for information technology and database management for the division, evaluating requirements for software development, training and implementation/integration to meet the needs of the division, collaborating with and coordinating the work of external vendors and consultants including the review and testing of systems. The Coordinator will work closely with our IT staff.
Candidates must have a B.A., 3-5 years of professional work experience in information technology and database management or an equivalent of work experience, education and training that fulfill the requirements for the position. Demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing, testing and integration of information technology systems and databases programs is required. The ability to prepare and analyze statistical reports is essential. Applicants must have excellent computer skills and experience using Crystal Reports or other report writing software. Strong, oral and written communications skills are also needed. Experience working in an association or non-profit is a plus. Salary: Mid to high $50’s with excellent benefits.

Quality Management Coordinator
The NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation is seeking a Coordinator to work in its Washington, DC, headquarters be responsible for monitoring early childhood programs that have achieved NAEYC Accreditation. Duties include reviewing the content of reports submitted by accredited programs, noting changes or minimal compliance, and coordination of necessary follow up visits. In addition, to reviewing documentation, the Coordinator will provide technical assistance to accredited program staff, other stakeholders, and the general public in accordance with the standards, criteria, and other requirements.

Senior Director, NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation
NAEYC is seeking an experienced manager to serve as the Senior Director of the association’s program accreditation system, the NAEYC Academy of Early Childhood Program Accreditation. The Academy accredits 9,000+ early childhood education programs, with more than 5,000 programs working toward accreditation. The Academy has a budget of more than $7 million and approximately 50 full-time and 65 part-time staff. Responsibilities include leading and managing daily operations and overseeing the Academy’s administrative services
Qualifications for the position include a graduate degree in management or related field or comparable knowledge, minimum 8 – 10 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience, strong management skills including financial management and budgeting, IT, program and staff supervision, and systems/operations performance. Familiarity with accreditation systems, early childhood education, child development or related fields is highly desirable. Competitive salary. Senior Director, Accreditation Program Support
NAEYC is seeking an experienced communications and/or adult learning specialist to serve as the Senior Director of the association’s accreditation program support unit associated with the NAEYC Academy of Early Childhood Program Accreditation. The Senior Director will have responsibility for designing and overseeing NAEYC’s programs and activities that support early childhood programs that seek accreditation by the association. Activities will include managing the association’s communications, outreach and training with respect to accreditation and early childhood program improvement, coordinating work with accreditation facilitation projects, managing the accreditation scholarship program and planning other innovative means to support programs seeking NAEYC Accreditation.

Conference Program Manager
NAEYC is seeking a self-motivated, extremely detail-oriented meeting planning professional to join our outstanding Conference team to assist with the coordination and logistics of our Annual Conference (20,000 attendees). This position requires a meeting planner with extensive experience in project management (primarily with conference programs); who works well in a team-oriented environment; and is able to meet multiple publication deadlines. The Conference Program Manager will serve as the Annual Conference program liaison for 900 sessions/meetings and will be primarily responsible for compiling program copy and managing the session and scheduling databases. Additional duties include preparing room setups as well as audiovisual and catering orders for Conference sessions.
B.A. degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in coordinating logistics for association conferences and multi-hotel meetings are required. CMP or coursework is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and have the ability to work under pressure to achieve and produce a seamless event. A working knowledge of databases, MS Office and the ability to travel is also required.

NAEYC is seeking InDesign layout professionals in the Washington DC metro area: We are looking for freelance magazine layout artists to assist in the production of our bimonthly 4-color journal, Young Children and other print and online publications. Candidates must demonstrate significant successful experience doing magazine page layout in InDesign and image adjustment in Photoshop PLUS with knowledge of typography and print production processes. Creative graphic design experience a plus. We are PC-based and need freelancers who are available come to our downtown DC office frequently.

Consulting Director for Institutional Research (Part-Time)
The NAEYC seeks an individual with a strong background in applied research and data analyses and experience with information management systems to join the Association’s management staff as a Consulting Director for Institutional Research. The position will oversee the creation and development of an Office for Institutional Research; coordinate operational data gathering, analyses and reporting functions in support of managerial decision-making; and assist in planning and conducting research studies with an emphasis on the Association’s accreditation program for programs serving young children and their families. The position will also work closely with a team of individuals engaged in the planning and development of an enterprise-wide information management system that is scheduled to be fully implemented within the next 18 months.
The position is a renewable contract, with an initial appointment for up to one year beginning on a half-time basis. Coordinator of Baccalaureate and Graduate Program Review
NAEYC is seeking a Coordinator to manage our reporting and review system for four-year and graduate degree programs at colleges participating in National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accreditation. Responsibilities include a wide range of tasks, including providing assistance to faculty writing reports, developing and providing training for reviewers, developing and maintaining tracking systems to organize report and reviewer information, presenting and facilitating workshops (including webinars), representing the Association at meetings, developing resource documents and updating web content.
B.A. required, M.A preferred, in early childhood education, human development,
psychology or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in early care and education or a related field is required. Experience in developing and presenting trainings/workshops is also required. Experience working with accreditation or higher education faculty a plus. Excellent customer service and relations skills required. Must be highly organized, able to multi-task, and have good writing and public-speaking skills. NAEYC is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to support our mission to improve the quality of early childhood education by contributing to ongoing work on issues of standards, curriculum, assessment and professional practice; creation and dissemination of professional development resources, through presentations and collaboration with stakeholders and the internet (distance learning). Will work independently and collaborate with others to plan and coordinate NAEYC-sponsored training events as well as convene work groups, seek external funding, and develop resources for the profession. Serves as a liaison to and stimulates further collaboration with multiple partners including public school personnel, state education agency leaders, child care and early intervention leaders, and diverse practitioners and families in community settings.
Minimum Master's degree, experience in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or Elementary Education or a related field and in-depth knowledge of critical content, national trends and policy issues. Proven experience in planning and conducting training, writing for diverse audiences, information gathering, synthesis and collaboration with varied professional groups. Must be familiar with diverse contexts for early childhood education, including child care, Head Start, State funded prekindergarten, and kindergarten through third grade programs. Must be committed to diversity and able to appreciate multiple perspectives to build consensus on difficult issues.
