Richard Holly is NAEYC’s Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Operations. He oversees all financial and administrative functions of the association. Holly serves as a business advisor to the Executive Director and is a member of the senior executive team. Key duties include setting the association’s financial policies and overseeing business planning, budgeting functions and helping to drive the strategic direction of the association. He works closely with the Finance and Fund Development Committee of the Governing Board. In addition to managing the accounting staff, Holly also leads the association’s Human Resources and Association Services staff.
Richard Holly joined NAEYC in October 2011 as the Chief Accounting Officer overseeing the finance and accounting functions of the association. Prior to joining NAEYC, Richard Holly was employed by Executive Management Associates as a financial consultant to the Department of Transportation’s TRANServe program where he advised the US Department of Transportation (DOT) on the application of accounting and IRS tax rules pertaining to the Transit Benefit Program.
Prior to EMA, Holly was employed as Principal and later Partner of Tatum LLC, the nation’s largest executive services firm. Holly’s clients included several not-for-profit and for profit firms including Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Care, a federally qualified health center in Washington DC and Vertis Inc., a $1 billion print media company. Holly also independently consulted for the ATCO Group, a $1 billion + private equity firm in Saudi Arabia.
Prior to working for Tatum, served as the Assistant North American Ready Mix Product Line Controller of Lafarge North America. Before joining Lafarge, Holly served as a Plant and Product Line Controller of the Silver Industrial Division of Engelhard-Clal, $1 billion+ manufacturer of precious metals-based products serving a wide range of industries. He began his career as the Group Financial Analyst of Engelhard’s Engineering Materials Group in Paris, France.
Mr. Holly holds a Master’s degree in International Business Studies from the Moore School of Business of the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in International Public Affairs from Oklahoma State University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Virginia. He has also earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
