Job Description: The NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation is seeking early childhood professionals to conduct on-site assessment visits for programs seeking accreditation. Assessors will be trained to reliability on the Academy’s data collection tools and will be expected to continuously maintain reliability throughout their term of service (up to two years with the possibility of renewal). Both regional assessors and local assessors are being sought. Responsibilities of regional assessors include scheduling and conducting on-site assessment visits in conjunction with assessors and program administrators, supported by NAEYC Academy staff. Regional assessors must commit to conducting a minimum of 6 on-site assessment visits per month, and will be compensated $300 for each day of an on-site assessment visit. Local assessors will work collaboratively with the regional assessor and program staff to review program portfolios and files during the on-site assessment. This is a volunteer position and requires a commitment of at least three on-site assessments per year. Both regional and local assessors will be reimbursed for all travel expense associated with conducting visits.
Qualifications: A minimum of a baccalaureate degree with Credit bearing hours of specialized college-level work addressing both child development and learning from birth through kindergarten is required.
