Once a program’s Renewal Materials are approved, the program will receive a site visit within 6 months of the Renewal Materials due date.
Program Requirements:
- Continue to demonstrate compliance with eligibility and Candidacy Requirements
- Meet all site visit requirements
Tasks for Programs:
- Receive contact from NAEYC Assessor(s)
- Provide NAEYC Assessor(s) with your program’s calendar and selected exclusion dates
- Submit changes in staff to NAEYC Academy (if applicable), using the Fax Cover Sheet for Staff Changes for the Site Visit.
- Receive notification of 15-day window in which the site visit will occur
- Receive notification the business day prior to the site visit

Receive site visit within 6 months of the Renewal Materials due date.

- Review the sample site visit forms
- To request past site visit protocols, please contact Accreditation Program Support
- Complete site visit evaluation and submit it to the NAEYC Academy
- Receive your program's accreditation decision within 3 months of the site visit
Decisions:
If the due dates in the Timeline for Currently Accredited Programs are met, a program will receive its accreditation decision before the end of its current term of NAEYC Accreditation. If the program receives an accreditation decision of “Accredited”, it will seamlessly transition into a new five-year term of NAEYC Accreditation after the end of its current term of NAEYC Accreditation.
- Resubmit new Renewal Materials on the next available Renewal Materials due date.
- Resubmit an Intent to Renew within one year of the accreditation decision of deferred. If a program does not submit a new Intent to Renew within one year of the accreditation decision of deferred, it must successfully complete the four step NAEYC Accreditation process for programs seeking initial accreditation to regain its status as an NAEYC Accredited program.
- Appeal the accreditation decision by moving forward with a formal appeal process.
- Withdraw from the Renewal process at this time and resubmit an Intent to Renew within one year of the accreditation decision of denied. If a program does not submit a new Intent to Renew within one year of the accreditation decision of denied, it must successfully complete the four step NAEYC Accreditation process for programs seeking initial accreditation to regain its status as an NAEYC Accredited program.
- Appeal the accreditation decision by moving forward with a formal appeal process.
