Programs may, but are not required, to submit their classroom and/or program portfolios in electronic format. As outlined in the NAEYC Assessor Site Visit Protocol, NAEYC Assessors are prepared to review portfolios in electronic format.
Electronic portfolios must be viewable in the time allotted for these tasks as outlined in the site visit protocol: 30 minutes for each Classroom Portfolio and 2.5 hours for the Program Portfolio. It is strongly recommended that programs back up all electronic files onto a local disk, CD or USB drive. Please ensure that the computer provided for the assessor during the visit can handle the size of the portfolio document/software package to facilitate review in the time allotted. Assessors must have the portfolio evidence to review on the day of visit or credit will not be given.
NAEYC does not endorse any electronic portfolio products or services, but provides the following list of companies that have been licensed by NAEYC to use the NAEYC standards, criteria and sources of evidence to permit programs enrolled in the NAEYC Accreditation process to create online web application portfolios for use with the NAEYC self-study and self-assessment processes.
