NAEYC understands that the submission deadlines can present a challenge for busy programs. To accommodate programs that have missed a submission deadline, NAEYC will begin allowing programs to submit accreditation forms* up to (1) calendar month past an established deadline. Programs submitting accreditation forms with a postmark up to (1) calendar month beyond a deadline will be assessed a late fee of $150. This process and the corresponding late fee will go into effect on January 1, 2015. If a deadline is missed, the subsequent step in the accreditation process may also be delayed. For example, a program that submits its Candidacy Materials up to (1) calendar month after the due date may not receive its site visit within the 6-month time frame following the Candidacy submission date.
*This policy applies to the following accreditation forms: Application, Candidacy, Annual Report, Intent to Renew and Renewal Materials. This policy does not apply to an Appeal of an Accreditation Decision.
