List of NAEYC-Approved State Director/Administrator Credentials Recognized in Lieu of Relevant Training and Experience

NAEYC Accreditation. May 2007 – Individuals who currently hold one of the following NAEYC-Approved state credentials qualify for the maximum number of points for relevant training and credentials – one of three categories included in the alternative pathways to achieving educational qualifications of a program administrator for NAEYC Early Childhood Program Accreditation. States that offer a credential not on this list are encouraged to send documentation of their credential to accreditation.information@naeyc.org. To be approved, a state credential must require the completion of at least nine credit hours or a minimum of 144 clock hours of training in areas that address early childhood education as well as program administration, management and leadership. Requirements for formal training may be included as part of a degree requirement or considered separately.
