Join Us for Great Ideas 2007 - JUST TWO SEMINARS LEFT!
Regional Seminars designed for NAEYC State and Local Affiliate Leaders
More than 320 affiliate leaders from 130 affiliates played a part in the Great Ideas 2006 seminar series. Those who joined us received numerous ideas for membership recruitment and engagement; professional development activities; and communicating with members that were both practical and creative.
We will continue the Great Ideas format in six new cities in 2007 with a focus on creative ideas to build effective governing boards – how to recruit, engage, educate, and have FUN as a governing board!
The framework for this seminar is based on two best-selling books, Good to Great by Jim Collins and Keep Them On Your Side by Samuel Bacharach. This day-long interactive conversation will allow affiliate leaders to closely examine their own approach to best practice as board members. Share your insights and discover the wisdom of your colleagues as you;
- Unpack the Four Dimensions of Momentum
- Learn why vision alone in not enough
- Discover the assumptions of leadership
- Rethink your culture of customer service
- Avoid data denial
- Examine a Level 5 Leader
- Walk away with a plan of action
Come prepared to think deeply about the effectiveness of your affiliate board, and the effectiveness of your leadership, facilitated by Gwen Simmons, NAEYC Director of Affiliate Relations.
The day begins with continental breakfast and registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided. The seminar closes at 4 p.m.
If you are attending a Great Ideas seminar outside your state, NAEYC encourages you to also attend the affiliate conference that will be taking place at the seminar site. Scholarship assistance is available for out-of-state registration fees. For details contact NAEYC Affiliate Relations.
