Have fun while you're in Washington, D.C.!

Washington, D.C. is a city like no other! A crossroads of history, culture, and contemporary style, D.C. is a place where you can touch, feel, and experience history! Sightseeing tours have been planned for the 2009 NAEYC Annual Conference.  In addition, see the information below for things you may want to do on your own.

Shop.

Start downtown at the Metro Center Macy's, or at the Old Post Office Pavillion. Then visit Union Station or Chinatown for more shopping and entertainment options. The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City—located just minutes away in Arlington, Virginia, and on the Metrorail system—offers more than 170 fascinating stores.

Ride.

Hop on board our Metrorail system for quick, efficient transportation to most points of interest. You can also ride the DC Circulator—a sleek, stylish, bus service that connects downtown with Georgetown and the Convention Center with the Southwest Waterfront.

Relax.

Stop by charming neighborhoods like historic Georgetown, eclectic Adams-Mogran, and trendy U Street. These neighborhoods offer visitors chic boutiques, hip restaurants, world-class theaters, art galleries, and peaceful parks and gardens.

See.

Take in a Broadway play or hear the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. The Kennedy Center offeres the best in music, dance, and theater.

Dine.

D.C. has earned acclaim as a top destination for dining. You can sample innovative international cuisine in historic dining rooms and posh contemporary space. In D.C., dining is more than just a meal, it's an experience!
