Dear Colleagues,
To better meet the needs of our diverse membership, NAEYC is making an important change in the benefit choices offered to members. Beginning in January 2012, new and renewing members can choose to receive five issues per year of either Young Children or Teaching Young Children. In addition to receiving their choice of periodical, all members will find an enhanced member area on the NAEYC website. This area will house the digital version of Young Children and provide exclusive access to articles, professional development resources, and research-based information on a variety of current and classic early childhood topics. These digital offerings will focus on early childhood research, policy, and practice and allow members to meet their information and professional development needs in real time. Through this new approach, NAEYC will deliver a variety of relevant and engaging resources with less impact on the environment.
Young Children will now be published in January, March, May, September, and November. Teaching Young Children will continue to be published in February/March, April/May, June/July, October/November, and December/January. The enhanced member area will be updated regularly to ensure a diverse and timely array of digital offerings.
We hope that you continue to find value in all of NAEYC’s publications and resources. NAEYC looks forward to serving you now and in the years to come. As always, please let us know what you think. We know that “My NAEYC!” means different things to each unique member and hope this approach enhances your NAEYC experience.
Sincerely,
Jerlean Daniel, PhD
Executive Director
