About the Position
Consulting editors review and recommend proposals and article submissions for Young Children as well as book manuscripts for potential publication and distribution by NAEYC.
Experts in the field of early childhood education and care, the consulting editors provide thoughtful critique of manuscripts and, when necessary, constructive feedback for improvement to authors. Consulting editors are encouraged to identify and nurture potential authors and contributors to Young Children and the NAEYC books program.
Commitment and Requirements
Consulting editors who are selected serve a three-year term—renewable, space permitting. Individuals selected as consulting editors should expect to devote four to six hours per month to the reviewing process. Submissions for Young Children are accepted and managed online through Manuscript Central and communication between the editorial team and the consulting editors takes place primarily via email; therefore, high-speed Internet access, up-to-date browser software, and an active email account are essential.
Eligibility and Selection Process
