Arkansas preschool teacher featured on cover of Teaching Young Children magazine
White Hall teacher Jamie Enloe to appear in the October/November issue of Teaching Young Children, NAEYC’s magazine for preschool educators
(White Hall, Ark.) – Jamie Enloe, a preschool teacher at the Pine Bluff Arsenal’s Child Development Center, will be featured on the cover of the October/November issue of Teaching Young Children (TYC).
Enloe is one of a series of excellent educators chosen to appear on the cover of TYC, which is distributed to 45,000 readers. TYC is published five times a year by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Each issue provides useful, research-based ideas that preschool teachers can use in their work.
An additional 15,000 copies of the issue featuring Enloe will be distributed to each attendee at the 2010 Annual Conference and Expo, the largest early childhood education conference in the world. The conference will be held in Anaheim, California from November 3-6, 2010.
“We are honored that Jamie will be recognized in TYC,” said Megan Booker, the program’s director. “She is a wonderful teacher and role model who works hard every day to make a difference in the lives of the children she teaches.”
Enloe will appear on the cover of the magazine and in a corresponding interview in which she discusses how she became a preschool teacher, her current work, and her plans for the future.
Enloe has been teaching young children for over ten years, and says she knew that she wanted to become a teacher from a very early age.
“Teaching is what I’ve always felt called to do,” she said.
TYC is also available in Spanish as Tesoros y Colores. For more information on TYC and to purchase the latest issue, visit www.naeyc.org/tyc/.
