Make your call on Wednesday, March 28th

On Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on a fiscal year 2013 budget introduced by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), chair of the Budget Committee. Although not a program-by-program budget, it is clear from its outlines that it proposes a dangerous, short-sighted roadmap to deficit reduction, based on reducing tax obligations for wealthier taxpayers and making significant cuts to spending for critical programs that serve children and their families, including child care and Head Start, as well as other important needs such as Food Stamps. At a time when nearly one in every four children in America lives in poverty, it must be a national priority to invest in high quality services that support children's development and learning, and family economic stability-- not to de-invest. 
 
A better approach is to help America prosper and reach its potential with a fair revenue plan balanced with the right investments in human capital. Tell your Representative to VOTE NO on the Ryan Budget and instead to work for a budget blueprint that puts this country on a path of sustained economic recovery and growth.

• Your Message: Vote NO on the Ryan Budget. It's a dangerous budget plan for children and families.
