How to Order from NAEYC

Online

Use our secure online shopping cart to complete your purchase online. Members in good standing automatically qualify for the member discount when they register using their NAEYC member ID. Please note that you must register as a customer in order to use the site. When you complete your order you may either submit the order online using our secure server, or you may print the invoice and mail it or fax it with payment. For orders submitted online, processing takes 3-4 business days before shipping.

Phone

Associates are available to take your order Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Eastern Time. Phone orders must be prepaid by VISA, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. For prompt service, please have your order and credit card ready when you call. Please do not mail or fax a confirming order as it may create duplication. For orders taken over the phone, processing takes 3-4 business days before shipping.

Fax

Please complete all order form information requested, and do not mail a confirming order. We do not routinely confirm fax orders. However, if the fax transmission is unclear, we will contact you if you have provided a daytime phone number. Credit card information must accompany orders under $150 (not including any shipping and handling charges). For orders faxed into our offices, processing takes 5-8 business days before shipping.

Mail

Use our online shopping cart to complete your order, and then print it to mail to the address below. Or to request a catalog by mail, please send your name and mailing address to resource sales, resource_sales@naeyc.org. (Subject line: catalog request.)

If your order is less than $150, a check, money order, or credit card information must be provided at the time of purchase. Make checks payable to NAEYC (U.S. funds only).

Shipping and handling charges will be added to all orders. Your invoice will be mailed after your order has been shipped. Note: If you wish to place a purchase order, it will be accepted by mail or fax only. For orders mailed into our offices, processing takes 8-12 business days from receipt at NAEYC before shipping.

Placing Rush Orders

Rush shipping/handling is available upon request via UPS Next Day or UPS 2nd Day.

  • Rush orders placed by phone or online by 11:00 AM Eastern Time are processed in 1-2 business days
  • Rush orders placed by fax are processed in 3-5 business days
  • A fee of $17.50 applies to all rush orders

Shipping, Payments and Returns:

Shipping/Handling for Domestic Orders

NAEYC ships via UPS Ground in the 48 contiguous U.S. states. Orders to Alaska and Hawaii must choose shipping via U.S. Mail or upgrade to UPS 2nd Day (Rush fees will apply). UPS does not deliver to PO boxes, so please make sure you include a complete street address. Orders shipping to PO boxes will be sent via U.S. Mail.

Orders Shipping via UPS Ground

We are able to offer our customers real-time shipping quotes for all online orders. Our shipping quotes are fully integrated with UPS.com.

U.S. Mail Option

We are able to offer our customers real-time shipping quotes for all online orders. Our shipping quotes are fully integrated with USPS.com, which is based on the actual cost of first class or parcel post postage, plus a $6.50 processing fee.

Rush Options

  • Rush shipping/handling is available upon request via UPS Next Day or UPS 2nd Day.
  • S/H charge is actual shipping cost, plus a rush fee of $17.50

Alternate Carrier

Customers may request shipping via an alternate U.S. carrier at their expense. Full account billing information must be given with the order.

  • $6.50 processing fee applies

Shipping/Handling for international orders (including U.S. Territories, Canada, and Mexico): NAEYC ships via UPS International. All international orders shipped via UPS are required to include a local destination phone number. UPS will not deliver without that number.

  • S/H charge is based on weight, plus a $6.50 processing fee
  • Recipient is responsible for any customs fees, duties, and other taxes levied by the country of destination

Customers may request shipping via an alternate international carrier at their expense. Full account billing information must be given with the order.

Payment

Orders with Subtotals under $150 must be prepaid. Orders with Subtotals of $150 or more may be prepaid, or can use a purchase order/number, or ask to be billed. A packing slip will be enclosed in your shipment. Receipts and invoices will be sent separately.

Members Price is not available on Purchase Orders.

Payment policies

  • All payments must be in U.S. funds
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover money orders, or checks (make checks payable to NAEYC)
  • If you are paying by check from a bank branch located outside the U.S., add a $10 processing fee for check amounts up to $90; and a $20 fee for amounts over $90
  • Orders to Georgia, Illinois, or the District of Columbia are charged applicable state sales taxes. To qualify for state sales tax exemption, NAEYC must receive a copy of your tax exemption certificate with your order, or have a copy on file.

Returns

You must call to obtain a return merchandise authorization prior to returning any items.

If for any reason it is necessary to return materials to NAEYC, please follow the return instructions printed on the shipping form. The following return guidelines apply:

  1. Returns must be made within nine (9) months of invoice date.
  2. Product Return Restrictions:
    •  Multimedia – Returnable if shrink-wrapping is intact
    •  Week of the Young Child, Gift Items-not returnable
  3. Call 866-NAEYC-4U (866-623-9248) for return instructions.
  4. If the items are returnable, you will be mailed a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
  5. Write the RMA number on the outside of your package(s).
  6. Return to the address indicated on your RMA within one (1) month of RMA date Items returned to any other location than the one indicated on the RMA will be considered lost and credit will not be given.

Please pack carefully. Returned items must be received in original, resalable condition (i.e., no bar coding or stickers applied). Returned items not in resalable condition will not be credited and will not be sent back to you.

  • A restocking fee of 10% of the total value of items returned or $6.50, whichever is greater, will be charged against your credit

Pricing Structure and Discounts

NAEYC Members Price:

NAEYC Members receive a 20% discount on all items in the NAEYC catalog. To qualify for these discounted prices, you must provide your NAEYC member number (printed on the address label above your name, on your member ID card, and on correspondence from NAEYC). Members Price is the lowest price available on any item.

Your membership must be active and in good standing to be eligible for the Members price.

Please note: The member discount is reserved as a benefit to NAEYC members on purchases for their individual use. Members prices are not given on orders billed to an institution, organization, or business or on orders placed with a purchase order/number. A member's benefit may not be loaned to or borrowed by others.

Non-members price:

This flat price is for individual purchasers who are not NAEYC members and are not buying in quantity.

Quantity Discounts:

Orders of 25 or more copies of any item in the catalog are eligible for a 15% discount off the Non-members price.

Claims

Claims for replacement of missing copies or damaged items must be made within sixty (60) days of invoice date, so please check your package carefully.
