Young Children Journal - July 2011
Item #: 055
Young children need caring, responsive adults who build relationships with them and who provide developmentally appropriate experiences. They need adults who implement individualized strategies for children whose behavior interrupts their optimal development and learning. The July 2011 issue of Young Children focuses on "Behaviors that Still Challenge Children and Adults." Theme articles focus on dual language learners with challenging behaviors, rough play, superhero play, sexual development in young children, positive behavior strategies, and self-regulation. Additional articles discuss standards in kindergarten and promoting young children's prosocial skills.
