Today’s children are more in tune with media and technology than any prior generation. This dynamic opens up exciting new opportunities for early childhood educators to bring research-based, media-rich resources into our kindergarten and primary grade school settings. Yet many of us may not know where and how to find trusted, high-quality content.
This webinar was co-presented with NAEYC, PBS KIDS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In this webinar, we talked with educators and other experts who are using research-based, quality transmedia tools and resources in creative and developmentally appropriate ways. The webinar featured Dr. Roberta Schomburg, Cindy Putman of WCTE/Putnam County Schools in Tennessee, and colleagues from public media’s Ready To Learn Initiative, who discussed the innovative PBS KIDS television and multiplatform math series Odd Squad and the positive impact it is having in many K-3 classrooms today.
