Math Concepts Addressed
Numbers, counting and cardinality, shapes, measurement, fair-sharing
Today’s children are more in tune with media and technology than any prior generation. This dynamic poses many challenges while also opening up exciting new opportunities for early childhood educators to bring research-based, media-rich resources into our preschool settings. Yet many of us may be struggling to find and use trusted, high-quality content and resources.
This webinar was co-presented with NAEYC, PBS KIDS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In this webinar, we talked with educators and other experts who are using research-based, quality transmedia tools and resources in creative and developmentally appropriate ways. The webinar features Dr. Roberta Schomburg, educators from the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children, Cathy Cook of WQED, and colleagues from public media’s Ready To Learn Initiative, who discussed the innovative PBS KIDS television and multiplatform math series called Peg+Cat and the positive impact it is having in many classrooms today.
