Supporting the Many Ways Children Communicate

Young children communicate their ideas, questions, and feelings in many ways. They move their bodies, create works of art, and assume the roles of imaginary characters. Teachers support children by ensuring they have what's necessary to engage in multiple forms of communication. The authors of the cluster articles share research and classroom-based strategies about how to support children's development and use of communication skills.
