Alissa Mwenelupembe has worked in and around the field of early childhood education for the past 17 years. Throughout her years in the field, Alissa has worked in many capacities, teacher, director, a coach in her state's QRIS system and an adjunct instructor at the local community college. She has served as her NAEYC Affiliate chapter's Vice President, written for Child Care Exchange, and consulted with groups such as Zero to Three and the Head Start Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center.
Alissa’s passion for the early childhood profession has led her to continue her education so that she can keep moving early childhood forward. With the help of Indiana AEYC and the TEACH scholarship program, she was able to earn a CDA and then a Master's in Early Childhood Education. That work has now led her to pursue a doctorate in Education, with cognates in Adult and Community Education and Diversity Studies.
