Week of the Young Child® is NAEYC’s signature annual public awareness celebration, held every spring since 1971. The celebration, which grew out of successful state and local observances pioneered by NAEYC Affiliates beginning in the mid-1950s, draws attention to the needs of young children and their families. This year, we begin the celebration 100 days into our centennial year.
