Power to the Profession is a national collaboration to define the early childhood profession by establishing a unifying framework for career pathways, knowledge, and competencies, qualifications, standards, and compensation.

Public Draft: Decision Cycles 7+8

The last set of recommendations from the Power to the Profession Task Force, known as Decision Cycles 7+8, addresses the resources, infrastructure, and accountability structures needed across states and systems to support a prepared, diverse, well-compensated early childhood education profession.

We need your voice

The second draft of the Leveling of the Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators is now available for public comment. The intention of the leveling is to serve as a guide to help the early childhood ecosystem (practitioners, professional preparation programs, accreditors, licensing bodies, etc.) understand the level of knowledge and skills related to the standards and competencies they need to master  or support in their professional roles.

New Report! Increasing Qualifications, Centering Equity: Experiences and Advice from Early Childhood Educators of Color

NAEYC, in collaboration with the Education Trust, release new research that explores the experiences and advice from early childhood educators of color regarding the structures, supports, and funding needed to increase qualifications without deepening existing divisions along racial, geographic, socioeconomic, and linguistic lines.
