I am a recently retired Faculty member in Child Development and Family Studies at City College of San Francisco with a MA in Early Childhood Education from San Francisco State University. As part of my work at City College, I was the Faculty Coordinator for the Professional Development Project where we provided multi-lingual career pathways support and academic counseling. Prior to that I worked in parent coops, directed ECE direct service programs, and consulted on center start up. I have been actively involved in Early Care and Education advocacy and public policy for many years, participating in and then serving on the SF Local Planning Council (CPAC) for many years.
I’ve been a member of NAEYC since the early 1990s; was part of their first Linguistic and Cultural Diversity Panel 1997-2000. and joined the East Bay CAAEYC Chapter where I am now finishing a term on the Board of Directors.
Since retirement I’ve been an active PEACH member, working on Higher Education policy issues; served on the Board of Directors of Wu Yee Children’s Services; and am a Director Mentor with the California Early Childhood Mentor Program.
