Dr. Raynice Jean-Sigur is a professor of Early Childhood Education in the Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State University (KSU). She has taught Child Development and Early Childhood Education courses for over 25 years. During her tenure, she launched the Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) undergraduate degree program at KSU and served as program coordinator for several years. Her research interests include teacher preparation in Early Childhood Education, families and children with medical conditions and early learning and literacy. She has served as program coordinator for the Teacher Leadership graduate program and interim director for Student Success in the Bagwell College of Education.
Dr. Raynice has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate students in early childhood and elementary settings. She has served as chair and committee member for several dissertation committees and has received the Georgia Association for the Education Children (GAEYC) Adult Educator of the Year award in 2020. Dr. Raynice has also taught in early care and elementary settings prior to teaching in higher education. She received her B.S. degree in Special Education with certifications in early childhood and elementary education from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. She earned her M.S. degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of North Texas and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Raynice enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, four children and Boston Terrier. She loves playing board games with her children, niece and nephew.
