Frequently Asked Questions
What meals are covered?
Please plan to eat lunch before checking into the event on Sunday, as lunch and dinner will not be provided. A reception will follow Sunday’s program. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Monday, with dinner on your own. On Tuesday, breakfast will be provided, while lunch and dinner will be on your own.
Are there vegetarian and vegan options?
Yes, there will be options available for those who indicated a special dietary restriction in their registration form.
What should I wear?
Business casual attire is expected on Sunday and Monday. We suggest bringing a light extra layer for sessions. On Tuesday, you will be on the Hill and business attire is expected. We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and check the weather before you leave home in case you need to bring an umbrella or raincoat!
Will the conference have wi-fi available?
You will have access to wi-fi from your hotel room, but it is not available in the conference rooms. Ask the front desk at your hotel for more info.
What are the hashtags we should use during the Public Policy Forum?
During several in-person sessions, we’re going to ask folks to stay off social media, so that presenters and audience members can talk candidly and off-the-record. However, when you are on social media, and sharing pictures of your amazing Hill visit, please use #naeycPPF.
How are we getting to the Hill for Tuesday’s meetings?
Transportation will be provided from the hotel to Capitol Hill on Tuesday morning. Buses will make multiple trips to accommodate different meeting schedules, with boarding beginning shortly before each departure. Due to security restrictions around the Capitol, all buses will drop off at Garfield Circle, convenient to both the House and Senate office buildings. Note: Exact bus boarding and departure times will be shared in the final PPF agenda.
If your meetings are scheduled outside of the group transportation times, you may wish to use the Metro, a taxi, or a ride-sharing service to ensure a timely arrival. Travel from the hotel to Capitol Hill typically takes about 10–15 minutes by car and approximately 40–45 minutes by Metro, depending on traffic and wait times.
How do we get back to the hotel after our meetings?
Because each team’s final visits end at different times throughout the day, you are responsible for your transportation back to the hotel (or straight to the airport or home) via metro or ride sharing.
Where should we keep our luggage while we are on the Hill?
The hotel will provide storage of your luggage during your Hill visits. If you have an early departure flight and will need to leave for the airport directly from the Hill, you’ll need to plan on bringing your luggage with you. Remember, all baggage will be screened through Hill security, so we recommend packing light!
