Early Learning Program Standards
You are here
By providing a framework to help programs understand their strengths and challenges, the 10 NAEYC Early Learning Program Standards aim to ensure the quality of children's daily experiences in early childhood programs and to promote positive child outcomes. Program standards are based on evidence of what makes quality programs and are aligned with the profession’s collective knowledge of best practices. Our expert staff, comprehensive standards, and established processes will help your program meet the goal we all share: the highest-quality early learning experiences for every child.
For the purposes of NAEYC Accreditation's evaluation process, we have identified four key groups of early childhood education stakeholders:
- community partners
Each of the 10 Early Learning Program Standards fall under one of these four categories. The majority of the standards focus on addressing the needs of young children–the most important stakeholders. The remainder of the content of the 10 standards focus on the programmatic structure that program administrators, teachers, and communities build to support quality educational experiences.
