Early Learning Program Standards
You are here
The NAEYC Early Learning Program Accreditation Standards and Assessment Items aims to ensure the quality of children's daily experiences in early learning programs and to promote positive child outcomes. It also seeks to create a unifying framework of quality that is aligned with the profession’s collective knowledge of best practices.
The development and ongoing enhancements of the NAEYC Early Learning Program Accreditation Standards and Assessment Items reflect guidance from many stakeholders including educators, program administrators, assessors, accreditation facilitation specialists, coaches, families, policy makers, researchers and NAEYC staff.
Under the governance of the Council on the Accreditation of Early Learning Programs, these standards are used as the basis for accreditation decisions.
For a quick overview of these standards, see this summary.
